What we do

RDC isn’t a conventional IT consultancy, and we’re not interested in selling you more systems and software. Our very specific role is to fine tune the way your business needs and technology work together. By doing so, we can maximise your productivity and efficiency, reduce your overall expenditure, and help you understand your real business imperatives through forensic analysis and measurement of your organisation.

The challenge

Our clients typically have silos of data that are near dormant and not earning revenue, along with extensive IT systems that are not being used at anywhere near maximum capacity or efficiency. Both the information and the technology are usually found to be even more disparate and disjointed when mergers and acquisitions have been involved. Our role is to help clients sweat all those assets together, re-using existing data and excess or redundant computing capacity in new, creative ways.

The result isn’t just deeper insight into the business; along the way we uncover cost savings, efficiencies and ways to increase productivity, sales and customer service.

How we work

Although every situation is different, there are common issues affecting most business situations. Drawing on the huge depth of experience of our consultants we’ve developed Datamill, a structured, repeatable methodology that provides clear structure and purpose to our work. The Datamill framework underpins every job we undertake, and it is flexible and adaptable to any environment.

If you’re not sure whether our approach may be right for you, consider that we provide prototyping, benchmarking and proof-of-concept services, and we are therefore more than happy to underwrite performance guarantees for projects we undertake. We have a flexible approach to commercials, too: we engage on a fee-based or shared risk basis (or a combination of the two).

Our people

An RDC consultant is a rare blend of business manager, technical architect and analytics expert – with healthy measures of financial awareness and pragmatism thrown in. We insist our people acquire this balance of skills through real project experience, not just theory, and we pool their know-how within a culture that gives us the confidence to tackle the most daunting environments.
